I arrived here in the USA in 1998. After working all over the world playing in a cover bands and then doing cabaret and TV in London and all over the UK, I decided to move to the USA to learn more about the Chicago Blues.
I have been in the USA now for seven years and I became a resident of the USA in 2005. Since I've been here I've worked with a variety of bands and musicians, and played The House of Blues and a gig at the CRC , Double Door , and many others. While still looking for the right band I went to the audition for Bill Wyman with Beggars Banquet and found himself working as Bill Wyman , after a very quick audition.
I quit Beggars Banquet in 2006 after 3yrs of playing Bill Wyman "I can understand why Bill Quit"
Back in England I did some walk on TV parts, played in a host of bands, notably Traf Blues, with Roger Betts (Traf), Lubbly Jubbly, Barracuda, Small But Perfectly Formed & Funfayre, the last being a comedy show band were I and the two other members did 52 costume changes in a one hour show.
An almost published song is all that's left of S.B.P.F ( Small But Perfectly Formed ) the last band I put together before coming to the USA, with two of the best musicians to come out of the South East of England, Mark Sanderson (Guitar) & Andy James (Percussion & Keys) you can download some of the songs on my Page
Mark Sanderson's MSQ Band, a jazz fusion quintet, is to release it's debute album in the USA later this year.
Like Bill Wyman I was in the Royal Air Force also, though this was after I returned to England from Australia, where I lived for three years touring, working, playing guitar in pubs and getting drunk, well, he was only 18 at the time.
I Started playing rhythm guitar at the age of 11 and took over playing bass in my first band in(1971) while still in the RAF, after the bass player left the band, I've been playing it ever since.
I joined Barracuda in 1978 and toured the world playing the five star hotel circuit for seven years, until the band dissolved due to total boredom of traveling so much and being away for three to four months at a time. I have been lucky and met and worked with some of the top names in the music business in my time and spent almost four years in Birdland studios London as a session musician and sound engineer.
